Was this a hit in one of the most corrupt cities in the nation or was it really just a bad guy killing a cop?

High-ranking Chicago police commander was shot to death outside a state government building in the city’s busy downtown district. Paul Bauer, the commander of the Windy City’s 18th District, was off-duty and assisting a tactical team responding to a robbery near the Thompson Center when he was shot. The 53-year-old commander “saw the offender and engaged in an armed physical confrontation” before the suspect whipped out a gun and fired multiple times.
