A man has been caught on camera headbutting police at Tweed Heads, as the issues at NSW and Queensland’s border, triggered by the Delta outbreak, continue.
Footage posted to Facebook showed the man sitting on the grass with a woman when he was approached by a group of police officers on Sunday.
The couple was sitting near the State Border Monument, drinking from paper cups, when they were approached.
The police officers question why the pair are sitting and drinking, which is a breach of NSW’s coronavirus rules.
“There are public health orders in place,” one officer said. “You’re required to be wearing masks”.
The couple is asked to stand up but they appear to ignore the request from the police.
“We don’t have anything to say here,” the woman tells the group of officers.
